Directing Tomorrow’s Theatre is the second year long, UK wide, iteration of our three Sailmakers projects. Each project offers Silent Approach training for writers, directors, and theatre makers who want to include actors with learning disabilities in general audience, narrative theatre.

We’re working with our partners Derby Theatre, Salisbury Playhouse, RADA, Level Centre, Lawrence Batley Theatre, Dark Horse and Theatre 503 to support three guest directors through a yearlong process of learning with our creative team and our National Ensemble of actors with and without learning disabilities.

Helen Abbott, Kate Lovell and Anna Marsland will receive mentoring in casting, pre-production, dramaturgy and rehearsing with the Silent Approach as we develop new play HOPE VALLEY HOTEL (& Spa).

Our Silent Approach rehearsal process in May 2023 at partner venue Level Centre will be live streamed. Guest places are available in the rehearsal room and a project pamphlet in print and digital format will also be produced.
